This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets forth rules and guidelines for permissible use of the Riskify platform and services (“Services”). It is intended to ensure that all users utilize Riskify in a lawful, ethical, and respectful manner. By using Riskify, you agree to comply with this AUP. Any violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your access to the Services, as well as other legal consequences, as described below. This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service, and terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between this AUP and the Terms of Service, the stricter provision will apply (to the extent lawful).

All Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) generated via the Platform must be prepared, reviewed, and used in compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Cth) and the relevant Work Health and Safety Regulations in each applicable state or territory. Users are responsible for cross-checking all outputs against the applicable Safe Work Australia Codes of Practice, industry standards, and site-specific requirements. Riskify processes personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. Users must ensure they have the legal authority, including all necessary consents, before inputting any personal or sensitive information into the Platform

Prohibited Uses of Riskify

You (the user) must not use, or attempt to use, Riskify’s Services in any manner that is unlawful, abusive, harmful, or contrary to the intended purpose of the platform. The following is a list of prohibited activities and content; it is not exhaustive, but it illustrates the types of misuse that Riskify will not tolerate :

  • Illegal or Fraudulent Activity: You may not use the Services for any unlawful purpose or to promote or facilitate illegal activities. This includes (but is not limited to) using Riskify to plan or assist in criminal acts, to generate documents for fraudulent schemes, or to otherwise violate any law or regulation. You must not input or output content that encourages, depicts, or provides instructions for illegal conduct. Likewise, do not use the platform to engage in any form of fraud, deception, or misrepresentation (for example, creating a fake SWMS or safety certificate to evade legal requirements is prohibited).

  • Violations of Others’ Rights: Do not use Riskify in a way that infringes or violates the rights of any other person or entity. This includes intellectual property rights (copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets) of others – for example, you must not upload text or materials to the platform that you do not have the right to use, and you must not use the platform’s output to plagiarize or unlawfully appropriate someone else’s content. You also must not violate privacy or confidentiality rights: do not input sensitive personal information about others without consent, and do not use the service to harvest or expose anyone’s private data. Additionally, any use of the Services to defame, harass, or violate the legal rights (such as rights of publicity or freedom from harassment) of others is strictly prohibited .

  • Harmful, Offensive or Inappropriate Content: You may not use the Services to create, store, or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, or otherwise objectionable. Content that is hate speech, that promotes discrimination or violence against individuals or groups (on the basis of race, religion, gender, disability, or any other protected attribute), or which advocates illegal violence or self-harm, is forbidden on Riskify. While Riskify’s purpose is to generate safety documents (which should not normally involve offensive material), any attempt to misuse the prompt to produce such content violates this AUP. We reserve the right to determine what content is considered egregiously offensive or harmful, and such content may be blocked or removed without notice.

  • Malware and Security Violations: You must not use the platform to transmit any viruses, malware, worms, Trojan horses, corrupted files, or any other code intended to damage or interfere with computers, networks, or data . Do not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Riskify platform or any related system, nor breach any security or authentication measures. You are expressly prohibited from attempting to hack or gain unauthorised access to the Services or our servers, databases, or the accounts of other users. Similarly, do not use automated tools (scripts, bots, scrapers) to mass-download content or otherwise interfere with the normal functioning of the platform. Any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure (such as denial-of-service attacks or excessive usage beyond your authorised limits) is a violation of this policy.

  • Interference with Service Integrity: You must not interfere with or disrupt the integrity, availability, or performance of Riskify or the data contained within it . This means you cannot attempt to disable, overload, or degrade the Service. For example, launching any form of Denial of Service (DoS) attack, or exploiting the platform in a manner that materially reduces its performance for other users, is prohibited. You also must not interfere with other users’ use of Riskify – for instance, by hacking their accounts, altering or destroying content that is not yours, or using the Services to spam or phish others.

  • Circumventing Access Controls: You are prohibited from attempting to circumvent or bypass any security features, usage restrictions, or content filters that Riskify has implemented . This includes not attempting to access the Service without proper authorization, not using someone else’s credentials, and not trying to exceed your permitted scope of use (e.g., using trial accounts in rotation to avoid subscription fees, or using technical means to evade content moderation or usage limits). If the Service has certain features disabled or tiered for your account, you must not try to unlock or use those features by improper means. Do not modify or obscure any headers, user agents, or other identifying information to disguise the origin of any content or to automate actions in a deceptive manner.

  • Prohibited Content Generation: Given that Riskify uses AI (GPT) to generate text, you must not deliberately prompt or use the AI to produce disallowed content. For example, do not use the platform to generate: instructions for violent or criminal activity; sexually explicit material; content that exploits minors; highly sensitive personal data; or any other outputs that violate the content standards of this AUP. Even if your input is text-based, you are responsible for ensuring your prompts do not seek prohibited outputs. Attempting to trick or jailbreak the AI into ignoring safety or compliance measures is a violation of this policy. If the system refuses a request as unsafe or outside scope, do not attempt to repeatedly circumvent those refusals.

  • No Impersonation or Misrepresentation: You must not impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity when using our Service. For instance, do not pretend to be a Riskify employee or another user. Do not forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers in a way to disguise the origin of any content transmitted through the Service. Additionally, you should not represent any output generated by Riskify as if it were created by a human or by a safety professional without disclosing its AI-generated nature, in contexts where such misrepresentation could be misleading. (For example, if you publish the SWMS externally or submit it to authorities, you don’t necessarily have to label it as AI-generated; however, you must not claim you wrote it entirely yourself if directly asked in a context where authorship is relevant. Always use honesty in how the content is used.)

  • No Competitive Use or Reverse Engineering: You may not use Riskify’s Services to build or enhance a competing product or service. Any attempt to copy our features, user interface, or content templates for the purpose of creating a competing SWMS generator or similar tool is prohibited . You also must not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the platform, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or underlying algorithms of our AI or software (except to the limited extent that such activity is mandatorily permitted by law notwithstanding this restriction). Similarly, you must not use any output from Riskify to train or improve other AI models or services that would compete with Riskify or with our AI providers without our express permission. Essentially, any use of the Service that is intended to replicate or appropriate Riskify’s proprietary technology, or that of our AI subcontractor (OpenAI), is not allowed.

  • Spam and Abuse: You may not use the Services to transmit any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, promotional materials, “junk mail,” “spam,” “chain letters,” “pyramid schemes,” or any other form of solicitation. Although Riskify is not an email or communications platform, this rule applies if, for example, someone tried to use generated content to mass-message other users or if the platform offers sharing features – they must not be used for spam. You also must not use the Service to harass or repeatedly contact someone who has requested to stop, nor to post repetitive content of no relevance (spammy content) within any interactive features of the Service.

Please note that these rules apply to any use of the Riskify platform, including input data, generated output, file uploads, and interactions with any upcoming mobile app or integrated features. If you are not sure whether something is allowed, err on the side of caution or consult Riskify support for guidance.

Monitoring and Enforcement

Riskify reserves the right (but does not assume the obligation) to monitor users’ content and usage of the Service to ensure compliance with this AUP. However, in line with our commitment to user privacy, we generally do not manually review your specific SWMS content unless a misuse flag is triggered or a complaint is received. The platform employs automated content moderation filters which may flag certain inputs or outputs that potentially violate this policy (for example, extremely inappropriate language or discussions of illicit activities may be automatically detected). If content you attempt to generate is flagged, the system may block that content and show you a warning.

In cases where misuse is reported or suspected, Riskify may conduct a manual review of the relevant user content or activity. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent that we may access and review your content if we have reason to believe you are violating this AUP or other terms, or if it is necessary to protect our rights or others’ safety.

Enforcement Actions: If we determine (in our sole discretion) that you have violated this Acceptable Use Policy, we may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Content Removal or Blocking: We may delete, disable, or block access to any content (input or output) that violates the AUP, without notice to you. For example, if you somehow generated a piece of content that is prohibited, we can remove it from our system.

  • Warning or Notice: For less severe violations, we may issue you a warning and ask you to correct the problematic behavior. We might require you to confirm your understanding of the policies before continuing to use the Service.

  • Suspension or Termination of Account: We may suspend your access to Riskify (temporarily or permanently) or terminate your account entirely if you engage in a serious violation or repeat violations of this policy. Account suspension may be immediate if needed to prevent ongoing harm or liability. If your account is terminated for AUP violations, you may forfeit any fees already paid and you might be banned from re-registering in the future.

  • Legal Action: If your misuse of the platform is unlawful or causes harm, we reserve the right to take legal action against you. This could include reporting you to appropriate law enforcement or regulatory authorities. For example, using the Service to create fraudulent documents or to plan violence could be referred to the police. We may also seek civil remedies, such as damages or an injunction, if appropriate.

Riskify’s determination of whether there has been a violation of this AUP will be final and binding. We also reserve the right to cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory officials (including complying with lawful requests for information) in investigating any alleged unlawful use of the Service. This may involve preserving and handing over user data or content to the authorities as required by law.

Limited Liability: Riskify shall not be liable for any damages that may result from our good faith action in enforcing this policy (such as removing content or terminating an account). By using the Service, you agree that you will not hold Riskify responsible for any consequences of enforcement actions against your account or content, provided we act in accordance with this policy and our Terms.

User Responsibility and Reporting

All users of Riskify are expected to take responsibility for their own use of the platform and to ensure that none of their actions could aid or abet others in violating this AUP. If you are using Riskify within an organisation or team, you are responsible for ensuring that all other persons who access the Service through your account or under your supervision also comply with this AUP. Any violation by your personnel or anyone using your accounts will be considered a violation by you. In other words, you must ensure that employees, contractors, or colleagues who use Riskify on your behalf know and follow these rules, since you will be accountable for their conduct on the platform.

If you become aware of any actual or potential violation of this Acceptable Use Policy – whether by another user or an external party – we urge you to report it to Riskify promptly. You can contact us at our support email or through an in-platform reporting tool (if available) to confidentially report abuse. Please provide us with as much detail as possible, including any relevant documents or screenshots, so we can investigate the issue. We appreciate the assistance of users in policing and maintaining our community standards.

Riskify will review all reports of suspected violations and will take appropriate action as described in the Enforcementsection above. We may also reach out to the reported user to inform them of the allegation and give them a chance to respond or remedy the issue, depending on the nature of the violation.

Finally, remember that this Acceptable Use Policy may be updated by Riskify from time to time to address evolving risks or changes in laws. We will post any changes on our website and/or notify users via email or platform notification. Your continued use of the Service after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP. We encourage you to periodically review this policy to ensure your use remains in compliance.

By using Riskify, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Acceptable Use Policy and agree to abide by it. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, legal, and professional environment on the Riskify platform. If you have any questions or need further clarification about what is or isn’t allowed, please contact Riskify support before proceeding. We are always happy to help users use the Service responsibly.
